Biden DHS Has No Record Of 377K+ Border Crossers

President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security has admitted that it has no records for over 377,000 border crossers released into the United States, according to the agency’s response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.

In September of this year, Syracuse University’s Transactional Research Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) filed a FOIA request with the DHS to secure information regarding border crossers enrolled in the Biden administration’s Alternatives to Detention (ATD) program.

ATD – the program the DHS supposedly uses to monitor border crossers – essentially releases individuals into America while ‘electronically’ keeping tabs on them using ankle bracelets and tracked phones.

However, Syracuse’s FOIA request seems to have uncovered a major update on the ATD program: the DHS doesn’t have records for any of the migrants that were supposed to be tracked.

The Department of Homeland Security’s official response to the request states that no records on any of the more than 377,000+ border crossers were found:

“You have requested records pertaining to “the latest alien-by-alien, anonymous data covering all individuals who were taken into custody by ICE and entered (or transferred to) ICE ATD custody from the beginning of FY 2019 through August 2022 (or date of search, whichever later). [Emphasis added]

“ICE has conducted a search of the ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) for records responsive to your request and no records responsive to your request were found. [Emphasis added]”

Austin Kocher, PhD, an Assistant Professor at Syracuse’s TRAC, tweeted out the DHS’s response, saying, “Just days after announcing that the agency had been misleading to the public for months about how many immigrants were on gps ankle monitors, @icegov claims it can’t find records on over 350,000 immigrants in alternatives to detention program.”

Following up on his first tweet, Kocher also noted that ICE has been without a Congressionally approved director since January of 2017.

“ICE has been without a Congressionally approved director since January 20, 2017, which has been 2,167 days or very nearly 6 YEARS. That’s a very long time to be without a director,” Kocher writes.

“@SheriffEd_HCSO of Houston was nominated twice but Congress never finished its job,” he continues.

According to Breitbart, 4.8 million border crossers and illegal migrants live in American communities, despite having finalized or pending deportation orders.

Fox News border reporter Bill Melugin, who has covered the border crisis closely over the past 20 months, recently joined Tucker Carlson’s show to discuss recent videos showing massive illegal crossings.
