Biden Offers Weak Responses In Asia

Remember when we had a president that went to speak to Kim Jong-Un in person? We don’t live in that reality anymore.

President Joe Biden embarrassed himself and everyone in the United States while he was in South Korea, pronouncing the president’s name wrong and even insulting the American people.

Biden was asked, “Do you have a message for Kim Jong-un while you’re here?” He responded, “Hello, period.”

Hello? That’s it? The Center for Strategic & International Studies reported in late April, “While the world has been focused on Ukraine in recent weeks, North Korea has significantly increased the tempo of its missile tests.” The president really should have had a response prepared other than “hello.”

On top of the idiotic comment, Biden said, “So thank you all very much, and thank you President Moon … Yoon. Thank you for everything you’ve done so far. I appreciate it.” How does that happen? This isn’t Biden’s first rodeo in foreign affairs. Moon-Jae was the prior president of South Korea. Yoon Seok-youl is the current president.

Biden also spoke about electric vehicles, but not in the encouraging way you might expect to hear about them. Biden said, “We are, uh, being part of this transformative automobile sector and accelerating us on the road where we’re gonna be handing, uh, to, uh, the United States an all-electric future.”

What Biden actually meant was that we’re forcing an all-electric future in the United States. The current administration isn’t giving us a choice, and the market is no longer dictating production.

A White House fact sheet from August 5, 2021, says, “The President will sign an Executive Order that sets an ambitious new target to make half of all new vehicles sold in 2030 zero-emissions vehicles, including battery electric, plug-in hybrid electric, or fuel cell electric vehicles.”

President Biden’s handlers need to do a better job, especially when Biden is representing the U.S. in foreign countries and when he is discussing serious international affairs. “Hello” was simply a weak response from a president whose presidency has been replete with weakness and incompetence.
