China and Russia Strengthening Relations Amid Ukraine Crisis

Following bilateral discussions, China and Russia have stated that they will continue to pursue strong ties. They agreed to work together to counter Western sanctions imposed on Russia.

In a conference on Afghanistan, organized by China’s Anhui Province, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met and released remarks celebrating their nations’ developing ties.

Both nations are motivated to strengthen bilateral ties and are confident when it comes to developing cooperation, according to a summary of the meeting released by the Chinese foreign ministry. China is ready to collaborate with Russia, while the U.S. has chosen a different stance on Russia since the overthrow of President Donald Trump.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the two officials addressed Moscow’s war on Ukraine and the sanctions on Russia by the West.

Last month, as the Olympics commenced in Beijing, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin met and issued an equally warm and historic statement that said the friendship among both nations has no boundaries or limits when it comes to cooperation.

The Chinese Ambassador to the United States has been attempting to persuade Americans that his nation is not supporting the Russian assault. “Declarations that China was aware of or implicitly backed this conflict are completely misinformation,” At the beginning of this month, Ambassador Qin Gang issued this statement in a Washington Post op-ed, as a response to allegations that Putin had informed Xi of his intentions, when they met in Beijing.

This recent meeting clearly indicates the level of cooperation between China and Russia. As the U.S. pushes punishments, Russia has allied with the world’s second largest economy in a way that makes Biden look extremely foolish.
