Congresswoman Cori Bush (D-MO) put a fun twist on the 2022 midterm discussion this week, with “A note to Democrats who blame progressives after losing an election,” warning them “not to point fingers in November,” if they don’t support extending student loan forbearance heading into an election year. The Biden Administration recently scheduled student loan relief to expire on Feb 1, 2022.
Greg P. reported at Twitchy that Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) said on CNN that Biden could extend the moratorium on student loan collection with the stroke of a pen and get it in response to the loan relief expiring done without Congress.
Notice how the media left and right defines this position of Bush and Warren as progressive when the group it helps are college graduates, sure maybe young, poor college grads, but not lower working class, and many Millennials are not poor. At the same time, they haven’t had the time to amass the wealth of their parents and grandparents, owning only some 5% of U.S. wealth by CNBC’s count a year ago, 1 in 4 Millennials had $100,000 or more in savings in Jan 2020. That number is up from 16% who had hit the savings milestone in 2018.
So it’s odd that these perceptions are persistent despite not making sense if you think about it for just a minute instead of accepting it because that’s what everyone’s saying in your hurry to grab it and make the political point you thought of with it. Close your mind.
It’s funny that the not that progressive, college grad labor caucus of the Democrat Party is already trying to whip the party into supporting one of its priorities with the sting of an imminent election loss ahead. All the while, nearly half of Democrats blame Biden’s policies for inflation. Meanwhile, as Trey Gowdy reported on Fox News, the White House is asking news outlets to ease up on negative coverage of rising prices, so the Biden camp is in their minds blaming the media for his abysmal public approval numbers.
And this media is very friendly to the Democratic president, like it’s their job. Why does the media work so hard for Democratic administrations when it’s never enough? Do you think Trump wouldn’t honestly appreciate the kind of effort on his behalf the media makes for the guys in the other party? He would. Say what you want about Trump, but he wants to be treated fairly, and he’s a very generous guy.
