Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) has raised alarms about the safety of President Donald Trump, revealing that there are at least five assassination teams currently operating in the U.S. with the goal of killing Trump. Gaetz disclosed this information during an interview on Breitbart News Daily, citing details from a senior Department of Homeland Security official.
According to Gaetz, three of the assassination teams are foreign in nature, originating from Iran, Ukraine, and Pakistan, while two are domestic. He expressed concerns about the level of protection surrounding Trump, especially after two recent assassination attempts, including one in July where Trump was injured.
Gaetz criticized the allocation of resources, noting that some protective measures for Trump have been redirected to other details, leaving the former president vulnerable. “I don’t think we should be allowing these teams to set up shop and plan their attacks without more scrutiny,” Gaetz said.
As Trump continues his campaign for the 2024 presidential race, Gaetz called on Congress to investigate whether the Secret Service has sufficient resources to protect him from these known assassination threats. He emphasized that the safety of the former president should be a top priority, given the severity of the threats.
