Nihad Awad, CAIR’s National Executive Director, highlighted the high level of engagement from Muslim voters, noting that 95% plan to vote. He cited opposition to U.S. support for Gaza as a key issue influencing Muslim voter preferences, urging all eligible Muslims to “make their voices heard” in this election.
Stein’s choice of running mate, Butch Ware, may be a contributing factor. Ware, a Black Muslim professor at the University of California Santa Barbara, has been outspoken against Zionism, describing it as “white supremacist.” His addition to Stein’s ticket is seen as an appeal to issues important to many Muslim voters.
