Prominent pro-life activist Lila Rose shared disturbing images on social media depicting vandalism to crisis pregnancy centers by pro-abortion activists in Portland.
Rose — the founder of Live Action, a human rights non-profit focused on protecting the lives of the unborn, well-known for its undercover videos taken at Planned Parenthood clinics — shared the news in a tweet Thursday.
“BREAKING: Antifa pro-abort men are attacking and putting out hits on pregnancy centers in Portland, OR. Because it drives pro-abort men to violent rage to think that women will have support to choose life,” she wrote.
“In the pro-abort Antifa Man’s eyes, the only approved choice for a woman facing unexpected pregnancy is to kill her baby. Anything else, & they will rage,” the pro-life activist asserted.
Alongside her comments are images of what she said is a pregnancy resource center in Portland, Oregon, with shattered windows and pro-abortion graffiti saying “F*** CPCs,” with “CPCs” being shorthand for “crisis pregnancy centers.”
A crisis pregnancy center is a pro-life center for expecting mothers that exists as an alternative aimed at dissuading them from having an abortion. These centers provide information and resources for expecting mothers. Many offer counseling and classes related to raising the child on your own or going through the adoption process, and some centers even provide material support, including basic baby supplies like diapers, clothing and formula.
Taking away a resource like this by attacking the crisis pregnancy center and destroying the building could potentially take away help that many women in the community desperately need.
“So Roe isn’t about choice, it’s about dead babies,” said Margot Cleveland of the Federalist.
“Antifa account @rechelon compiled a list of addresses of centers to target in the Portland-area,” replied Andy Ngo, editor-at-large at Post Millennial, suggesting that this attack may end up being part of a larger collection of attacks against pro-life institutions.
Pro-abortion radicals often mischaracterize pro-lifers as “anti-woman” or merely “pro-birth,” suggesting that they only want women to give birth, but no longer care about the woman or the baby after the birth and provide little to no assistance. This could not be farther from the truth, as pro-life crisis pregnancy centers do indeed aid women before, during, and after the birth of their child.
“Pregnancy centers like this one (staffed by 10,000+ licensed medical workers) served almost 2 million people nationwide in 2019, providing free services during and after pregnancy — including nearly 1.3 million packs of diapers, more than two million baby outfits & so much more,” explained president Marjorie Dannenfelser of the pro-life Susan B. Anthony List organization.
