Time magazine owner Marc Benioff publicly called out Vice President Kamala Harris for not responding to the magazine’s requests for an interview. In a post on the social media platform X, Benioff noted that Harris is the only major Presidential candidate who has yet to sit down with Time for an exclusive interview.
“Despite multiple requests, Time has not been granted an interview with Kamala Harris—unlike every other Presidential candidate,” Benioff wrote. He added that transparency is crucial, and Time has a history of publishing full interviews with candidates. Benioff linked to previous interviews with Donald Trump and Joe Biden, emphasizing the magazine’s commitment to offering a platform for political figures.
While Harris has done interviews on radio shows and podcasts like “Call Her Daddy,” Benioff questioned why she hasn’t engaged with more traditional media outlets like Time. The vice president’s media strategy stands in contrast to Trump, who has appeared on conservative platforms such as Fox News and various podcasts.
Harris is scheduled to appear on Fox News for her first sit-down interview with Bret Baier on “Special Report” this week, a move that comes amid growing questions about her media strategy.
Benioff’s critique underscores the pressure Harris faces to be more transparent with the media and engage with a wide range of outlets as the 2024 election approaches.
