Trump says that they are “shortsighted ‘losers’” and they “have no idea what the MAGA movement is.”
Trump posted on Truth Social a statements, “I listen to all of these foolish (stupid!) people, often living in a bygone era, like the weak and frail RINO, Peggy Noonan, who did much less for Ronald Reagan than she claims, and who actually said bad things about him and his ability to speak.”
Noonan has been critical of not only Trump but also Trump supporters. On Noonan’s website, she said, “Republicans can argue about Trump’s single term. He was not strictly speaking a capable man, which surprised those who think the rich are. It’s not that he couldn’t make a deal; it’s that he never knew where the deal was, didn’t know who to go to because he didn’t understand Washington.”
Then Trump went after Rich Lowry, editor at National Review, saying Lowry “has destroyed the once wonderful and influential National Review, the pride and joy of legendary William F. Buckley, or George Will, whose mind is decaying with hatred and envy before our very eyes.”
Lowry is responsible for early hit pieces on Trump, such as a Politico article where he said, “If Trump wins the nomination outright, many Republican voters may stay home, and senators and members of the House up for reelection will probably scurry their own way, seeking cover from the loose cannon of a nominee.”
While Trump may have moments where he’s a “loose cannon,” Lowry couldn’t have been more wrong.
Trump said that Jonah Goldberg is “finally out of the conversation and of no relevance whatsoever.” Both Goldberg and Hayes founded The Dispatch, a paywall website that’s “informed by conservative principles.”
Trump concluded his statement, “Where do these people come from? They have no idea what the MAGA movement is, and even less of an understanding of America First, which is necessary, and even vital, to save our Country. People like these are nasty, jealous, not smart, and of no use to the potential greatness of our Country. They talk, they criticize, and they complain, but they don’t have the ability or talent to get anything done. They are shortsighted “losers,” and will never understand what it takes to Make America Great Again!”
