Trump Orders Federal Task Force To End Targeting Of Christians

President Donald Trump has signed an executive order establishing a federal task force to combat anti-Christian bias in government, appointing Attorney General Pam Bondi to lead the initiative. The announcement, made during the National Prayer Breakfast, is part of a broader effort to restore religious freedom and eliminate policies that have unfairly targeted Christians.

Trump criticized previous administrations for allowing government agencies to persecute religious Americans, pointing to cases where the Department of Justice and FBI investigated conservative Christian groups. He also condemned the Biden administration’s crackdown on religious gatherings while allowing secular establishments to remain open.

The task force is directed to review federal policies that have led to discrimination against Christians, including those at the IRS, which previously faced accusations of targeting religious organizations. Trump emphasized that these efforts will ensure that “Christians are protected in our schools, in our military, in our government, in our workplaces, hospitals, and in our public squares.”

Beyond the task force, Trump also announced the formation of a commission on religious liberty, designed to propose additional protections for Christians. The administration is working to roll back restrictions on religious expression in education, employment, and public life.

Conservative groups have welcomed the initiative, with First Liberty Institute praising Trump’s leadership on religious freedom. Meanwhile, the White House also confirmed the establishment of a Faith Office, led by advisor Paula White-Cain, to support faith-based organizations.

With these moves, Trump has made clear that defending religious liberty will be a central focus of his administration as it seeks to reverse years of government overreach that restricted the rights of Christian Americans.
