Trump Says US ‘At The Brink Of World War III’

While formally kicking off his 2024 presidential campaign on Saturday, former President Donald Trump gave speeches in the first two states on the Republican primary calendar — New Hampshire and South Carolina.

During his speech in South Carolina, Trump roasted President Joe Biden for the “crisis, calamity, and disaster” that he has caused while in office.

Speaking about the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the presidential candidate said that Biden has led the U.S. toward World War III.

“Through weakness and incompetence, Joe Biden has brought us to the brink of World War III,” Trump said. “We’re at the brink of World War III, just in case anybody doesn’t know it.”

The former president argued that he can reverse the damage if elected, stating: “As president, I will bring back peace through strength.”

Trump asserted that if he were president, there would be “a peace deal negotiated within 24 hours” to end the Russia-Ukraine war.

He went on to discuss the border crisis, blaming Biden for increased illegal immigration and drug deaths resulting from the cartels’ smuggling of drugs into the United States — echoing his previous assertion that Mexico is sending “killers” and “murderers” into our country.

“They are sending people that are killers, murderers, they’re sending rapists. And they’re sending, frankly, terrorists or terrorists are coming on their own, and we can’t allow this to happen,” Trump said.

Meanwhile, in his New Hampshire speech, Trump drew applause from the crowd by vowing to “eliminate federal funding for any school that pushes critical race theory or left-wing gender ideology,” and support “direct election of school principals by the parents.”

Trump’s speeches echoed policies that he has proposed over the past few weeks in his campaign video addresses — discussing issues such as education and protecting Social Security and Medicare.
