Trump Supporters Battle Long Lines And Freezing Weather At Victory Rally

On Saturday, thousands of supporters packed the streets around Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. to attend President Donald Trump’s final rally before he assumes office as the 47th president of the United States. The massive crowd faced harsh conditions and logistical challenges throughout the day.

Doors reportedly opened at 11 a.m., with President Donald Trump scheduled to speak at 5 p.m. Many supporters arrived early to secure their spots, only to find themselves waiting for hours in freezing rain, hail and snow as they tried to make their way inside.

Event management under Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser resulted in widespread confusion. Fencing and barricades forced attendees into confusing, maze-like paths with no clear signage or staff to direct them.

Although police officers were stationed throughout the area, their efforts to control the crowd were lacking. Many officers stood in groups, seemingly disengaged from assisting the attendees, leaving supporters to navigate the chaos on their own.

The worsening weather created additional hardships, turning from rain to hail before a snowstorm swept through the city. Families unfamiliar with the area found themselves struggling through slippery streets without assistance.

Despite the severe conditions and disorganization, the rally was a success with thousands showing up to support President Donald Trump, celebrating his victory ahead of Inauguration Day.
