A Ukrainian drone attack ignited a fire at an oil depot in Russia’s southwestern Rostov region early Saturday morning, causing a blaze that spanned 200 square meters. The fire, quickly extinguished with no reported casualties, marks another effort by Ukraine to disrupt Russian supply lines. Rostov Governor Vasily Golubev confirmed the incident on Telegram, emphasizing the ongoing aerial exchanges between the two countries. Additionally, Russian air defenses intercepted drones over Kursk and Belgorod regions.
Ukraine has increasingly targeted Russian infrastructure to weaken Moscow’s military logistics, especially as the conflict enters its third year. Despite these efforts, Russian forces continue to push along the front lines in eastern Ukraine, exploiting shortages of Ukrainian troops and ammunition. The Ukrainian Air Force reported intercepting four out of five drones launched by Russia overnight, with the fifth heading toward Belarus.
Civilian casualties in Ukraine remain a grave concern. In the partly occupied Donetsk region, Russian attacks on Friday resulted in six deaths and 22 injuries, according to Governor Vadym Filashkin. In the Kherson region, also partially occupied, Governor Oleksandr Prokudin reported one fatality and six injuries due to Russian shelling. These incidents highlight the ongoing volatility and human cost of the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
