Greg Gutfeld Defends Tucker Carlson, Goes After Fox News

During a recent broadcast, Fox News host Greg Gutfeld stunned his live audience after he defended Tucker Carlson, who Fox News fired in April 2023. He allegedly went after his own network, accusing it of being a part of the “censorship industrial complex.”

In his latest show on Dec. 1, 2023, Gutfeld brought up a popular topic in the news involving SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, who recently went after advertisers choosing to leave his platform, X, formerly known as Twitter.

Musk recently took part in The New York Times DealBook Summit, where he told companies leaving X that they are trying to “blackmail” him with advertising money to “go f— yourself.”

During his show, Gutfled praised Musk for going after the advertisers choosing to leave his platform.

“The fact is, Musk may be the last man standing between real freedom of speech and the suffocating block of this censorship industrial complex, which is made up of government, media, and tech forces,” Gutfeld said.

“He realizes that advertisers have no spine and can be easily cowed by special interest groups in cahoots with political allies,” the Fox News host said of Musk.

On X, Musk later responded to Gutfeld’s comments about him, writing, “Correct.”

Gutfeld then took a shot at his employer, telling his audience, “If you don’t believe me, I have two words for you: Tucker Carlson.”

Gutfeld’s comments drew an uneasy silence among his live audience and co-hosts. The Fox News host responded to the silence with one word: “Wow.”

Carlson was ousted by Fox News in April 2023 after Dominion Voting Systems filed a defamation lawsuit against the network. The former Fox News host has theorized that the reason for his termination revolved around his valid reporting of the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol protests and his stance on the Russia-Ukraine war.

“They were very nice to me the entire time I was there, but I could feel that they strongly disagreed in the war in Ukraine stuff,” Carlson recently told famed actress and comedian Roseanne Barr. “But they really didn’t like that at all. The January 6 stuff.”

Since then, Carlson has had a successful show on X, where he has garnered tens of millions of views. The former Fox News host held an interview with former President Donald Trump on X in August 2023, which received a whopping 230 million views just 18 hours after airing.
