The lawsuits and indictments against former President Donald Trump are politically motivated, according to half of Democrat voters in a poll by Issues & Insights / TIPP Insights out in December.
The poll asked 1,301 registered voters “To what extent do you agree or disagree with the statement: The Democratic Party is using the law to try to prevent Trump from running in the 2024 election.” A staggering 49% of registered Democrats answered they agreed with the statement. Only 44% of Democrats said they disagreed.

Meanwhile, 81% of Republican voters and 53% of Independent voters said they agree the Democrat Party is using lawsuits to hamper Donald Trump’s prospects of retaking the White House in 2024. Overall, 60% of respondents agree that Donald Trump faces unprecedented lawsuits and criminal charges for political reasons.
The poll had one more question for Republican voters and Independent voters who lean Republican: “How likely are you to vote for Donald Trump in the Republican presidential primary if he is convicted of any crimes?” The survey found 72% of Republicans and 63% of Independent voters would vote for Trump even if a court convicts him of a crime.
Issues & Insights’ report on the survey noted, “Amid growing signs of Biden’s age-related mental issues and clear evidence that Biden, son Hunter and other members of his family profited from foreign governments during his time as vice president, Biden is facing growing pressure from within his own party to step aside.”

The poll reveals that American voters are not very impressed with the wild assortment of charges brought against Trump in decidedly blue districts. The former president faces four separate indictments that cover 91 different allegations of criminal acts. They will require Trump to appear in New York, Florida, Georgia and Washington D.C.
In addition to the criminal charges Trump faces, there are multiple lawsuits to keep the 45th president off the ballot in Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota and 17 other states. Meanwhile, attorneys for the George Soros-funded, leftwing Media Matters group are suing the former president’s lawyers, forcing them to fight back in court to keep their law licenses.
