Hawaii Residents To Joe Biden: ‘Aren’t We Americans, Too?’

When President Biden smugly dismissed the Maui wildfires while on his vacation, it showed Americans his true colors; those colors aren’t red, white, and blue. Biden’s lack of empathy and unwillingness to set aside a minute of his time to address Americans in need is sparking outrage.

During an interview with CNN, a Maui resident got overwhelmed with emotion. When asked why Biden is taking his time visiting the destroyed land and those affected by the tragedy, Ella Sable Tacderan asked, “It’s really affecting me because where’s the president? I mean, aren’t we Americans, too?”

She continued, “We’re part of the United States. Why are we getting put in the back pocket? Why are we being ignored?” Biden has not visited the Hawaiian island since chaos broke out on August 8. The Lahaina wildfire was one of four fires that started on Maui that day, scorching 5.7 square miles.

The Maui wildfires are now one of the top 10 deadliest U.S. wildfires on record in 152 years. Earlier this week, the President carelessly rejected commenting on the relentless fire that impacted these Americans. Over 100 people have lost their lives, and more are expected.

The fires have forced thousands of residents to evacuate. Sources say the deadly wildfires may have been fueled by a combination of land and atmospheric conditions resulting in “fire weather.” The blaze destroyed the majority of historic Lahaina on Maui.

The search for victims continues, as hundreds of residents are still missing. Hawaii Gov. Josh Green stated that there is “very little” left of Lahaina. More than 2,700 structures have been destroyed in the fires. Green also said he expects the death toll to continue rising.
In an interview, he said, “More fatalities will come. The fire was so hot that what we find is the tragic finding that you would imagine, as though a fire has come through, and it’s hard to recognize anybody.” The fact that President Biden couldn’t be there for Hawaii in their time of need speaks volumes.

Lahaina resident Jay Awan firmly expressed his opinion, “I don’t want him here. He’s just coming to Maui to look good in front of the cameras.” Another resident, 66-year-old Peter Friedgan, said that most people “don’t care if the president comes.” Several others spoke out about Biden’s lack of sympathy.

In the meantime, Biden will continue to shell out millions to Ukraine and announced a pathetic plan to send Maui residents a one-time payment of $700 per household. Americans across the U.S. are getting fed up with the Biden administration, and Hawaii, a very blue state, is now added to that list.
