An illegal migrant is the suspect in yet another horrifying and senseless murder of a young U.S. woman. This time the victim was killed in Grand Rapids, Michigan in the course of an attempted carjacking.
Police arrested 25-year-old Brandon Ortiz-Vite of Puebla, Mexico, Sunday on charges of homicide/open murder, felony firearm, carjacking, operating while intoxicated and driving on a suspended or revoked license.
The Mexican illegal is charged in the Friday night shooting death of 25-year-old Ruby Garcia. Law enforcement officials were called to downtown Grand Rapids shortly after 11:30 p.m. and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her sister Mavi posted on Facebook that Ortiz-Vite was the primary suspect in the shocking attack. She initially warned that he might attempt to flee the country to Mexico before confirming that law enforcement apprehended Ortiz-Vite.
Mavi Garcia told the Midwesterner that the suspect was in the U.S. illegally. She described her sister as “a great daughter, sister, aunt and friend.” She said that the victim “will be remembered as being full of life and laughter, those around her would know she was silly and made everyone laugh.”
Ruby Garcia’s family launched a GoFundMe account to assist with the cost of burying their loved one. They noted that “our precious sister was taken from us” and called it a “sudden loss.”
The murder of yet another young American followed the well-publicized death of 22-year-old Georgia nursing student Laken Riley allegedly by an illegal migrant from Venezuela.
Her case and the recent brazen attack on two NYPD officers by a mob of illegal migrants near Times Square thrust criminal acts of these newcomers into the spotlight.
The wave of heinous crimes committed by those in the country unlawfully will be a key issue in this year’s presidential race. Former President and presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump has a well-established record of hawkish border security policies.
The same cannot be said for Democratic President Joe Biden. His weak policies on illegal migration were evident from the day he was sworn into the Oval Office.
This led to a record flood of millions of illegals surging across the border into the U.S., and hundreds of thousands of so-called “parolees” have been flown directly into the nation’s interior communities.
