RFK Jr.’s Sister Fears Candidacy Will Assist Donald Trump

Even the wealthy and powerful do not get to choose their family members, which is obvious after independent presidential candidate RFK Jr.’s sister Rory spoke with CNN. She complained that her brother’s run for the White House is “dangerous” for democracy.

Addressing the network on Monday, she claimed that Kennedy’s campaign is pulling votes away from the deeply unpopular President Joe Biden.

She noted, “The polls I’m seeing Bobby is taking 70% of the votes from Biden and 30% from Trump. I feel strongly that this is the most important election of our lifetime.”

Rory Kennedy told CNN that “there’s so much at stake” and the November election will likely be decided by just a few states. “I do worry that Bobby just taking some percentage of votes from Biden could shift the election and lead to Trump’s election.”

Four of the candidate’s siblings last year weighed in on his presidential run, and they were all deeply opposed. The group described his White House ambitions as “perilous” for the U.S.

In a statement, they declared, “We denounce his candidacy and believe it to be perilous for our country.”

The documentary filmmaker and youngest daughter of the late Sen. Robert F. Kennedy also appeared on MSNBC Monday to voice her displeasure with her brother’s bid.

Her ominous warning preceded by only hours the announcement of California entrepreneur Nicole Shanahan as Kennedy’s running mate. If Rory Kennedy and some of her siblings were worried before, they must be frantic now.

There was always a chance that RFK Jr. would choose a centrist or even strongly conservative running mate to strengthen his pull with disgruntled Republicans. But he clearly did not go that route.

Instead, he selected a far-left criminal justice reformer who will likely appeal to Democrats dismayed with the top of their presidential ticket. Shanahan is a well established liberal political donor and even supported radical leftist Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon.

Further, she is divorced from billionaire Google co-founder Sergey Brin and may contribute financial support to the independent campaign.

Shanahan confirmed she is exiting the Democratic Party. “I do believe they’ve lost their way and their leadership.” Adding her to the ticket only confirmed Rory Kennedy’s darkest fears.
