Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) accused the Biden administration of removing razor wire that the Lone Star State had previously installed in Eagle Pass. These remarks came amid ongoing disputes between Texas officials and the White House concerning the immigration challenges at the Southern border.

Abbott posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, “Texas installed razor wire in Eagle Pass to stop illegal crossings. Today, the Biden Admin CUT that wire, opening the floodgates to illegal immigrants. I immediately deployed more Texas National Guard to repel illegal crossings & install more razor wire.”
The governor subsequently shared an image of a letter he had personally sent to President Biden in November, asserting that the president’s policies had led to “an invasion at our border.”
Abbott said, “We are building a border wall, razor wire and marine barriers. We are also repelling migrants.”
In response to the current situation, Mayor Rolando Salinas, a Democrat from Texas, declared a local disaster on Wednesday to secure extra resources for managing the crisis.
Salinas said, “There has been a situation the last couple of days where we have gotten an influx of immigrants crossing through Eagle Pass. And it has taken a toll on our local resources.”
Salinas mentioned that he has received no response from the Biden administration regarding the request for extra resources to tackle the situation.
In July, the Department of Justice (DOJ) filed a lawsuit against Texas over the installation of a floating barrier aimed at mitigating illegal immigration along the Rio Grande. This barrier was created as part of Gov. Abbott’s Operation Lone Star.
In the lawsuit, the DOJ alleged that the barrier impeded the navigational capacity of U.S. waters and voiced concerns about its impact on humanitarian, environmental and public safety matters.
A federal judge initially ordered Texas to relocate the buoys, but the U.S. Court of Appeals intervened and halted that ruling. The legal case is still undergoing deliberation in the courts.
Fox News Digital reached out to both Abbott and the White House for comments but has not received responses.
